Hello, I’m Helia Rowena.
A passionate creative who at the age of 11, after seeing a movie that changed her life, decided that she did not want to be an actress or an astronaut but rather she wanted to be a Wedding Planner and not just any one, no, one of the best.
When I was only 16 years old, I helped my older brother organize his wedding and confirmed that I wanted to dedicate myself to this wonderful profession. There was only one “problem”: what should you study to be a Wedding Planner? There were no studies on that! So I started at the beginning: making a list of what I thought a Wedding Planner should know.
In my mind, one of the first steps was “aesthetics and personal image” to be able to advise couples on makeup, aesthetic care, and wedding looks. Thus, after two years of a higher degree in aesthetics and a zillion personal image courses, I decided that it was time to move on to the next point, which was “restoration” since there is a wedding that is appreciated that does not have a banquet or a cocktail. By chance, in 2012 a university degree in Event Protocol and Organization emerged in Madrid and a wedding is “a unique and unrepeatable event”. So I grabbed all my savings and threw my bravery and courage along with my dreams into my suitcase and moved to Madrid to pursue what made my world tick. However, not everything is as pretty as they paint it. They were hard years in which I had to combine work, studies and social life to be able to graduate.
In my third year of college, a friend convinced me to do a one-year exchange to Mexico, specifically to Cuernavaca, Morelos. There is a microclimate there and it is an area where many events are held because the weather invites them.
I collaborated in plays, institutional events and university events, although my best experience was when a friend’s sister asked me for help organizing her wedding. I was clear: I liked weddings and all those events that served to make people happy, it was the stuff of social events.
Once the exchange was over, I had to return to Spain to finish my degree and a year later I was on a flight to Mexico again. I organized more than 60 weddings, countless XV years and graduations and various company social events.
When I became pregnant with my second daughter just before the pandemic, I decided to return to my native country, Spain, to undertake a new adventure “starting from scratch as a Wedding Planner in Spain” and although the path is not entirely easy – the profession It is not valued too much due to lack of knowledge and many people still do not appreciate the support that it can mean to have someone helping you, advising you and guiding you in one of the most beautiful and unique processes of your life – I would not change it for anything in the world.

I believe that the world belongs to dreamers, and it’s us who manage to reach places and goals that were previously unthinkable, so I don’t take well to being pigeonholed or told that something is impossible, turning it into a challenge to overcome on my part.
I like to break away from the established and give everything a more divergent touch, avoiding being influenced by what everyone considers to be right. I believe that an event should reflect the essence of those who organize it and that attendees should feel that it’s 100% yours.
